The Mining skill is used for the mining and smelting of ores, into ingots. The higher your mining skill is, the better the ore you can mine, and better chance you have to successfully mine the rarer ores, and smelt them.Usually if you choose mining as your starting skill, you will be automatically issued a Pick Axe however you can also buy these from blacksmithing and mining NPC’s.
Once you have enough ore’s, you can attempt smelting them into ingots, by applying coal to a forge and then applying the ore’s to the forge.
It is important to note that certain ores can only be obtained by mining in specific mines in the map. Ores are obtained randomly, the percentage chance of mining a specific ore ranges with specific regions, also.
