These are standard templates — you are not expected to copy them perfectly. Feel free to tweak anything to match your playstyle, preferred PvP style, or the content you do most.
Warrior

Why these stats:
High Dex increases your swing speed.
High Str increases your weapon damage.

Notes:
Archery is good to have. It comes in handy in many situations. Most reliable damage source for PvM.
Assessment and Tactics are a must have for any Warrior. It enhancesyour combat skills immensely, hit chance and damage output.
Blade / Blunt / Piercing is the skill of your choice. Each of these skills have it’s up sides. You can combine Poisoning skill with piercing type weapons for extra unexpected damage.
Healing and Hiding are necessary.
Magery one of your most used skills.
Meditation and Mystic Lore are needed to keep your mana maxed and your spells strong. Mystic Lore also benfits the usage of spell scrolls.
Resist Magic and Shieldfighting is a must to protect you from Spells and Combat Damage.

Arms Lore is a staple for crafters and typically improves crafted quality.
Blacksmithy + Mining go together.
Carpentry + Lumberjacking go together.

- 70.0 – Stealth or Magery (for low circle spells)

Notes:
Assessment, Tatics, Weapon Skill and Shieldfighting are your core build skills.
Piercing and Poisoning these two work better than any other.
Healing and Hiding are necessary if you want to stay alive.
Magery may come in handy sometimes.
Tinkering is included specifically for Golem usage.
Resist Magic will help protect you from spells.
Stealth and Detection are usefull in house fighting.
This is a very “in-your-face” build: strong in tight spaces, weaker at long range unless you swap skills around.
Combinations
Besides these standard templates, many other combinations work well — especially once you understand what each skill is doing for your role.
Taming on a mage-style character: If you travel a lot as a hunter/explorer, you may run into rare steeds or useful creatures — Taming becomes valuable naturally as you roam.
Wrestling + Magery: Works very well together. You can polymorph into stronger forms and become a serious threat in close combat.
