Dungeons & Caves

Dungeons within UO are located on all Facets. They are explorable areas where characters may encounter any combination of monsters, puzzles, NPCs, or traps. Defeating the monsters and solving the puzzles reward players with various types of treasure; the tougher the monsters/puzzles, the more rewarding the treasure. Some Dungeons are multi layered areas, with stairs or hole like openings that must be used to travel between the levels. Typically, the more levels you encounter in a dungeon, the tougher the monsters and puzzles become. For example, in a single dungeon, a level 1 cavern might have Ettins and Earth Elementals, while a level 4 cavern in the same dungeon might have Ogre Lords and Trolls. Other dungeons may be a single level area- yet contain advanced monsters of extreme difficulty. Caution should always be exercised when exploring new Dungeon areas!

Covetous

The Avarice Sanctum

The dungeon Covetous was carved a long time ago into the Mountains of Avarice. There are five levels where the two first consist of narrow and winding passages which connects to larger caverns. The third is what appears to be the remains of some prince or king’s abode that has long been abandoned, either willingly or by forcefully when the mountain giants arrived. The fourth level is an old prison with cells for prisoners on both sides of a short corridor ultimately leading to the torture room and the Lich King. The fifth and final level is near a subterranean lake where a daemon, Q’Zail leads hordes of her minions to all other parts of the dungeon on her worn.

Destard

The Wyvern Pit

Probably best described as a dragon lair, but the sheer number of dragons in there makes the word lair a bit too small. Old tales say that the Syndicate miners originally discovered the dungeon and the rich ore veins inside, but they ran into a problem. They dug to far into the mountain and found the dragon queens nest, and because of this the dragons started spreading across the dungeon and all of Britannia.
